Deforestation is the permanent devastation of native forests and woods. It happens in many ways: when trees [1] cut down to grow crops or [2] livestock, logging so wood can be [3] for building houses and furniture, for [4] and neighborhoods, for firewood, and forest [5] . Deforestation is affecting our environment and [6] way our earth appears. At least [7] percent of our forests have been [8] . Our rain forests are disappearing with [9] consequences for human life. Deforestation disrupts [10] carbon cycle. The forest trees take [11] dioxide as well as pollutants from [12] atmosphere. When the trees are destroyed [13] burned or left to rot, carbon [14] released into the air as C02 [15] methane, which both contribute to the [16] effect. Deforestation affects our water, too. [17] take up water from their roots [18] then expel it into the air [19] moisture. This moisture then gets converted [20] clouds that will bring rain. If [21] have fewer trees, the atmosphere will [22] drier. With fewer trees, our soil [23] not have as much support and [24] silt is released into the waters, [25] in loss of soil and more [26] . Although there may be a need [27] cut down trees to some extent, [28] and other species need to protect [29] and woodlands. Trees are not just [30] ; they also house many different kinds [31] plants and animals that could become [32] with deforestation. According to the World [33] Movement, twenty-five percent of our medicine [34] from the forests. What if some [35] of these animals or plants holds [36] cure for cancer or dementia? We [37] our forests for many reasons. Our [38] are a legacy given to us [39] our ancestors, a legacy we must [40] to our children.
